Feature 3 - What's in my pack (Volume 1)

Here's a look at all the gear taken for my average trip. I don't have all the necessary gear to do a trip on my own, so as I collect more I'll write more volumes of "What's in my Pack". The missing gear is borrowed from my parents, or my friends bring. This will at least give you an idea of what's needed and how much you can fit in a pack. This pack is only about 50 litters, but I can strap plenty of stuff to the outside. Supplies vary from trip to trip, so this example is based on supplies for Trip 8, which I have yet to post.

In the pack

  • Wok
  • Small fry pan
  • Kettle
  • 2 Plates
  • 2 Bowls
  • 2 Mugs
  • Cutlery (2 Spatula, 4 forks, 4 knives, 4 spoons, a jack knife...)
  • Tongs
  • Fire stuff (News paper, fire starters, matches, lighter, charcoal just in case, work gloves)
  • Hand saw
  • Grill
  • Grilling basket
  • Book on mushrooms of Algonquin Park (Which I've never read)
  • Clothes for day two
  • Towel
  • Toiletries & First Aid kit
  • Lantern
  • Camping dish soap, cloth and towel 

Strapped to the pack

  • 2 Chairs
  • Sleeping bag
  • Pillow (Decided to splurge on this trip)
  • 2 Tarps (1 small, 1 medium)
  • Dry bag with valuables (Phone, keys, wallet, etc.)

Things worn

  • Clothes for day one
  • Life jacket
  • Binoculars
  • Camera
  • Park map
  • Water bottle (Frozen)

Food

  • Grapes (Inside 1L juice jug)
  • Juice concentrate
  • Deli meat
  • 6 Flat bread buns
  • 6 Granola bars
  • Cheese
  • Bacon
  • Eggs
  • Water bottle (Frozen)

What's missing

  • Camp stove
  • Pots and pans
  • More food
  • Tent
  • 2 Camp mats
  • Barrel (Odor resistant pack for food)
  • Canoe
  • 3 paddles (Need an extra for emergencies)
  • 1 Life jacket (Need an extra for emergencies)
